Why Sumworth

Education That Puts Structure First

We believe a well-informed buyer makes better decisions. Our programmes build understanding at a pace that respects your time.

Blueprint Approach

We work through property finance concepts the way an architect reads a plan — layer by layer, so each piece connects to the whole.

Plain Language Throughout

Financial and legal terms can obscure rather than clarify. We unpack them in everyday English without oversimplifying what matters.

Malaysian Context

All content is grounded in Malaysian property regulations, cost structures and the processes buyers encounter here — not generic international content.

General Education Only

We are educators, not advisers. Our programmes prepare you to have more productive conversations with your bank, lawyer and licensed agent.

Graduated Depth

From a single introductory session to our full programme, you can choose the level of engagement that fits your stage and schedule.

Small Group Settings

Sessions are kept small so participants can ask questions, share perspectives and follow along without feeling rushed or overlooked.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are these programmes designed for?

Our workshops and courses are suited to anyone preparing to buy residential property in Malaysia — particularly first-time buyers who want to understand costs and processes before engaging with a bank, lawyer or property agent. No prior finance knowledge is assumed.

Is this financial or legal advice?

No. Sumworth provides general educational content only. We do not assess your financial position, recommend specific products or advise you on any particular purchase. For advice on your situation, you should consult a licensed financial adviser, bank or qualified legal professional.

What does the cost map cover?

The cost map is a structured reference listing the typical categories of outlay a buyer encounters in Malaysia — from stamping fees and legal costs to loan-related charges and ongoing ownership costs. It is presented in plain language as an educational reference, not a personal financial projection.

How long does each programme run?

The Property Money Basics Workshop is a single session typically held over half a day. The Property Finance Literacy Course runs across five weekly sessions. The Complete Programme spans several weeks of structured content with three months of follow-up Q&A access.

Are sessions held in person or online?

Our sessions are primarily held in person at our Kuching office, which allows for a more engaged discussion format. We do accommodate online participation for the full course in circumstances where attendance in person is not practical — please mention this when you enquire.

Can I join a session if I have already spoken to a bank or agent?

Absolutely. Many participants join after an initial conversation with a lender and find that structured education helps them understand what they were told and what questions to ask next. You do not need to be at the very start of your property journey to benefit.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept bank transfer (online banking), cash at our office and e-wallet payments including Touch 'n Go eWallet. Full programme fees are payable upon registration. Please contact us for details on the payment process for your chosen programme.
